Salt Float Therapy at Restored Life Wellness Center, PLLC

Welcome to the world of salt water flotation!

Salt float tankWe are excited to have the new Revolution Float Orb in our office. It is the largest salt float pod available, with over 8 feet of space for you to enjoy. You are guaranteed to float due to the 1,200 pounds of Epsom salt dissolved in the warm, on average 94° temperature water. The buoyancy makes floating on water feel like floating on air.

We got all the bells and whistles on this new model. The fiber-optic starlight on the domed interior will make you feel like you are floating in space! The zero-gravity environment allows the mind and body to truly rest. Without any effort you can relieve pain, heal faster, relax, de-stress, improve sleep and have fun in this unique state. The benefits are endless!

Those who regularly utilize flotation therapy in their wellness programs report an array of positive long-term and short-term benefits. Some of the most common of these include:
  • Intense Relaxation
  • Relieve old injuries (especially back aches etc.)
  • Ease Arthritis
  • Release Endorphins – the body’s natural pain killer and happy pill
  • Improve the condition of the skin

Sensory Isolation

Sensory isolation, or sensory deprivation, in a salt water flotation tank is a method known for inducing deep relaxation and subsequent positive health effects for patients suffering from e.g. stress or muscle tension pains. Stress, depression, anxiety, and worst pain were significantly decreased whereas optimism and sleep quality significantly increased for the flotation-REST group. No significant results for the control group were seen.

There was also a significant correlation between mindfulness in daily life and degree of altered states of consciousness during the relaxation in the flotation tank.

  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. You want plenty of time to ask any questions and use the restroom before your float!
  • Once you enter the float room, undress and remove all jewelry. Shower to remove oils, fragrances and hair products. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, clean towels and washrags will be provided.
  • Put in your foam ear plugs (take your time to mold them to your ear; you do not want to have to adjust them once you are in the orb).
  • Carefully step into the orb and lie back, easing your body into the water. Your ears will be under the water line, but your face will remain above it.
  • Once inside you may close the lid if you want. There are three buttons inside to control the lights, stars and music. If you want the full sensory deprivation experience,we recommend turning off all lights and sound once you’ve found a comfortable position.
  • A voice will let you know when your session is complete, so don’t be afraid to fall asleep!
  • Exit the tank, shower again to remove any salty residue. Once you’re dressed, please exit the room to make way for our next floater.
  • Arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time to receive a brief orientation and to sign a float waiver.
  • Do not consume caffeine or stimulatory vitamins shortly before floating.
  • Do not float if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • Do not float if you have just shaved or waxed your body.
  • Do consult with your physician if you have any medical conditions or received recent medical treatment that may prohibit you from floating.
  • Do wear or bring comfortable clothing for before and after your float.
  • What should I wear to float? Nothing. Photos of pods show people wearing bathing suits for obvious demonstration reasons. Rest assured that our float rooms are completely private and there are showers within the private rooms for pre and post float showering.
  • We provide the following amenities for your float: soap, shampoo, conditioner, earplugs. Vaseline (for small cuts), towel, and a washcloth.
  • Bring any unique personal care items you might require like a contact lens kit, specific brand of shampoo or soap, or flip flips.
  • Do come peacefully with an open mind to focus and set your intentions for your float.
  • Do not float if you have recently (past 48 hours) had your hair dyed or colored. We do not want to ruin your treatment or add unnecessary chemicals to the float tank.
  • Floating is perfectly normal during your menstrual cycle. For sanitary reasons, please use the same precautions you would use if you were going to the pool or in water.
  • It is not uncommon to experience irritation during a float in intimate or recently shaven areas of the body.Applying Vaseline to the sensitive areas will greatly reduce and or/eliminate the issue.
